In January 2018, a delegation of Friends of Humanity (FOH) visited Bangladesh camps. After arrival the delegates visited several camps in Mirpur, Dhaka. They inspected the Electric Deep Tube Wells which were installed by FOH in past two years. The camp dwellers informed the delegates that they are getting clean water 24 hours which is appreciated by them.
The delegation was consisted by its president Ahmed A. Karim Jangda, Secretary General Ehtesham Arshad Nezami and Outreach coordinator Juveria Ahmad while FOH Country Director in UK Shafique Azam also joined the team from London. FOH country Director in Bangladesh Syed Jalaluddin Ahmed was with the team whole time. Haroon Rasheed, Executive Director of partner NGO Humanity in Distress (HID) and project officer of HID Shabbir Hossain were also present.
The delegation went to Saidpur and stayed there for more three days. During stay the FOH team visited all educational projects, had meetings with teachers, students and parents.
There was sports program of FOH Schools’ students and a colourful cultural show.
FOH team visited several camps and joined local FOH volunteers, teachers and HID representatives on a CLEANING DAY observation in a camp. Local literary organisation held a MUSHAIRA in honour of visiting guests.
FOH delegation visited the camps in Rangpur district on last day of North Bengal visit. It had a meeting with HID authorities and later distributed blankets among camp dwellers. Also they inaugurated the installation of Hand Pump project.
Last day of visit, FOH team had a detail meeting with OBAT president Anwar Akmal Khan and his team of OBAT HELPERS regarding FOH relief project for Rohingya Refugees.
Before departure, president FOH Ahmed Jangda and Country Director Syed Jalaluddin Ahmed visited the camps of Rohingya Refugees in Coxes Bazar and distributed relief goods.
